Institut Català d’Oncologia

Visit by AEBALL SALUT to Institut Català d'Oncologia.
Hospitalet de Llobregat

Organized by AEBALL SALUT, a business visit to the Institut Català d’Oncologia in l’Hospitalet de Llobregat will take place next Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
As part of the series of visits to Healthcare Facilities in Baix Llobregat, that we have coordinated in the last trimester.

ICO is more than a cancer hospital; it is a network operating across four regions where we work alongside four reference hospitals: Bellvitge Campus (at Duran i Reynals Hospital) – Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge. Girona Campus – Hospital Universitari Dr. Josep Trueta. Can Ruti Campus – Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol. Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l’Ebre – Hospital Universitari Joan XXIII in Tarragona and Hospital Verge de la Cinta in Tortosa.

The Institut Català d’Oncologia (ICO) is a public comprehensive cancer center. It approaches the disease holistically by bringing together prevention, care, specialized training, and research within the same organization.

ICO is a public entity created in 1995 by the Catalan Ministry of Health (Departament de Salut de la Generalitat de Catalunya), which began operating a year later at the Duran i Reynals Hospital facilities in l’Hospitalet de Llobregat. Seven years later, in 2002, ICO Girona was inaugurated at Doctor Josep Trueta Hospital, followed the next year by ICO Badalona at Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol.
